Marion Kathryn Hughes Anderson, 88, of Madison, died Sunday. Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of G.W. 'Doc' Hughes and Sarah Parham Hughes and the widow of Eugene J. Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sheila Smith.
Survivors include sons, Lawrence A. 'Larry' Anderson and G. Walton 'Walt' Anderson (Glenda), of Madison; grandchildren, Jason Anderson (Elizabeth), Joshua Anderson (Emily), and Sarah Kathryn Anderson Tarter (Eddie), all of Birmingham, and Laura B. Anderson and Marissa A. Mabes, both of Madison; special friend, Debbie Anderson of Birmingham; brother, John W. Hughes (Mary Ann) of Athens, great-grandchildren, Joshua Anderson, Junior, Elizabeth Anderson, Louise Anderson, Maggie Leeds, Andrew Leeds, Matthew Leeds, Aurora Mabes, Ella Tarter, and Pippin Tarter and many nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong resident of Madison, a lifelong member of the Madison Church of Christ and a charter member of the Madison Garden Club.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Madison Church of Christ. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery. Laughlin Service Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her honor to Childhaven Childrens Home, 1816 Childhaven Road, Cullman, AL 35055.
